What is the Order?
The Order of the Arrow (OA) is Scouting's National Honor Society.
Effective January 1, 2014 the Hunnikick Lodge of the former Burlington County Council and the Te'kening Lodge of the former Southern New Jersey Council merged as one. The new lodge's website is http://www.lenape8.org. The Lodge's name "Lenape" means "original people" in the Lenni-Lenape language. The totem selected is the red tailed hawk and the Lodge number is "8".

Membership in the OA is by election. When a scout makes the rank of 1st Class and has met the outdoor camping prerequisite the troop can call the lodge for an election. A election team will visit the troop and conduct an election. The youth members of the troop will vote by secret ballot to select those scout(s) of the troop who best represent the ideals scouting and are willing to commit actively to a life of cheerful service for the benefit of others.
